Color is the easiest way to turn a kitchen (or indeed any room) around. Pick up a paintbrush and in half a day you can go from drab to fab, or instantly transform the space with accessories and artwork in off-the-radar hues. People often get stuck in a kitchen color rut for some reason, opting for the same old subdued palette of pale neutrals. I’m in the “dare to be different” decorating camp. I’m evangelical about intoxicating, lavish colour—not to be gimmicky or quirky but because it’s the biggest game changer I know.
Two-toned kitchens and warm natural selections – like clay, copper, gold, henna, and ginger are becoming a hot choice selection for next season. Nature influence and reflections in coloring may be expected to have a strong stand next season – from the terracotta colored soil up to the green hues of the wilderness. There are signs that for the third year in a row the dark hues and tonalities will have a significant presence in the modern kicked color palette.
But with most appliances offering limited color options (aside from the usual trifecta of white, black and silver), where can you look to infuse some colorful expression into your kitchen? Here are some suggestions.
One of the most versatile and visible ways to do this is with color, the spice of any successful kitchen design recipe.
